We have been working on Divine Miss Em since we bought her Christmas 2006. Hard to believe we still love her as much as we did our first dance we had on her during our anniversary that year, as we waited for sea trials the next day. we have tried to maintain, restore, and upgrade while keeping true to her original flagship beginnings.

In August we had boat damage outside Tarpon Springs. We had our rudder replaced with a new fiberglass rudder and new steering on our Edson post. We also upgraded an additional depth transponder and garmin at the cockpit to add weather, depth, and AIS at steering.

We put new teak decks on in Ft. Pierce in 2016. Gary did the deconstruction of the old decks and filled the holes with epoxy. Then the old caulking was sanded off. Maritime Wood Products put the new decks on. Boat work in July is just hot in Florida. Gary rebedded all the stainless and rebedded the hatches. No lecks of any kind. We also had to replace the 2 windows we replaced in Panama City as they had delaminated. Panama Glass really when the extra miles to take care of this warrenty work.

Finished project with rigging and stainless fittings replaced. Gary had to go inside the ceiling under the cleats to take them out as the go over the new teak deck. Note the beautiful joinery in the bow. |
